Managing Jobs and Projects

Efficient job management is the backbone of a successful contracting business. ANVL provides tools to track every job from lead to completion.

Job Status Flow

Every job moves through statuses that track its lifecycle: Lead/Quote Request → Proposal Sent → Approved → In Progress → Completed → Paid → Archived. You control when jobs move through these statuses, and ANVL tracks dates for analysis.

Creating a Job

Start a new job from the Jobs dashboard. Fill in client info, location, job type, and description. You can create a job from a homeowner's quote request or manually if you've discussed a job by phone or in person. Every job gets a unique ID for reference.

Job Details Page

Each job has a dedicated details page showing all information: scope, timeline, budget, client contact, communications, photos, and invoice status. This is your single source of truth for the job. Keep it updated as work progresses.

Adding and Managing Photos

Upload before, during, and after photos. Organize by phase or section. Photos document progress, prove quality of work, and help with marketing. The mobile app makes it easy to take and upload photos from the job site.

Timeline Tracking

Set start and completion dates. ANVL shows you if you're on track or behind. You can adjust timelines if issues arise or work progresses faster than expected. Homeowners see the timeline, so keep them informed of changes.

Scope Changes and Change Orders

If the client requests additional work, create a change order. Document what changed, the additional cost, and timeline impact. Get approval before starting extra work. This prevents scope creep and payment disputes. Send the change order through ANVL for formal approval and signature.

Budget vs. Actual

ANVL tracks estimated costs from your proposal against actual spending. Log materials and labor as the job progresses. If you're approaching budget limits, you'll be alerted. This helps you stay profitable and identify bidding problems.

Assigning Subcontractors

If subs are working on the job, assign them in the job details. Track their work, hours, and payments. Subs can view their assigned tasks and update status. You maintain visibility into sub performance.

Job Communication

All messages about the job appear in one thread. Clients can message you through ANVL, and you receive notifications. Keeping communication in ANVL creates a record and prevents miscommunications. Respond promptly—response time affects your rating.

Inspections and Sign-Offs

If inspections are required, document them in the job notes. Homeowners often want proof of final inspection. ANVL lets you track inspection dates, inspector notes, and approval. This documentation is valuable if disputes arise.

Completing a Job

When work is finished, add final photos and notes. Mark the job as "Completed". Review the estimate vs. actual costs. If everything aligns, create the final invoice. If there are extras or changes, confirm the homeowner approves before invoicing.

Analytics and Insights

ANVL tracks job metrics: average project value, time to completion, profitability, and customer satisfaction. Use these insights to improve your bidding, scheduling, and customer service. Over time, you'll identify which job types are most profitable.

Searching and Filtering

Find jobs quickly by status, date range, client name, or trade. Filter to see all electrical jobs this month, or all jobs with a specific client. Create custom reports for business analysis or tax purposes.

Mobile Job Management

The ANVL mobile app keeps your jobs in your pocket. View job details, send messages, take photos, and update status from the job site. Work offline—changes sync when you're back online.
