Account Settings & Security
Managing Your Account Settings and Security
Your ANVL account contains sensitive information. Protect it with strong security practices and update settings as your needs change.
Updating Your Email
Change your login email in Settings > Account. You'll receive a confirmation at the new email address. Click the link to verify, then your account email updates. Keep your email current—it's how ANVL contacts you about important account matters.
Changing Your Password
Set a strong password: at least 8 characters with letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid personal information (name, birth date, address). Update your password regularly—annually at minimum, or immediately if you suspect a compromise. Go to Settings > Security > Change Password.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Enable 2FA to add a security layer. With 2FA enabled, login requires your password plus a code from your phone (via authenticator app or SMS). This protects your account even if someone gets your password. ANVL recommends 2FA for all users. Go to Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication.
Authenticator Apps
Use an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator) rather than SMS for 2FA. Authenticator apps are more secure than SMS codes. When enabling 2FA, scan the QR code in your authenticator app. Save backup codes in a safe place—you'll need them if you lose phone access.
Recovery Codes
When you enable 2FA, ANVL provides backup recovery codes. Each code can be used once to log in if you lose access to your 2FA device. Save these in a secure location (password manager, safe) separate from your password. Don't store them on your phone where they're vulnerable if your phone is lost.
Forgotten Password
If you forget your password, click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your email and ANVL sends a password reset link. Click the link (valid for 2 hours) and set a new password. Make sure you can access your registered email address—you'll need it to reset your password.
Profile Information
Update your name, phone number, profile photo, and other personal info in Settings > Profile. This information may appear on your public profile (if you're a contractor), so keep it current and professional.
Communication Preferences
Choose what notifications you receive: emails about job activity, payment receipts, new messages, updates, and promotional content. Go to Settings > Notifications to customize. You can always receive critical account notifications (login alerts, payment issues) regardless of preferences.
Login Activity
Review your recent login activity in Settings > Security > Login History. See which devices and locations accessed your account, dates/times, and IP addresses. If you see unexpected activity, change your password and contact support immediately.
Linked Accounts and Permissions
If you've connected third-party services to ANVL (accounting software, calendar apps), manage these in Settings > Integrations. Review what permissions each app has and revoke access to apps you no longer use. Limit permissions to what's needed.
Data Privacy
ANVL takes privacy seriously. Your data is encrypted, stored securely, and never sold to third parties. You can request a data export anytime in Settings > Privacy. You can also request deletion of your account and data, which permanently removes everything within 30 days.
Deleting Your Account
To delete your ANVL account and all associated data, go to Settings > Privacy > Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm. This is irreversible—all jobs, invoices, client data, and messages are permanently deleted after 30 days. Export your data first if needed.
Privacy Policy
Read ANVL's full privacy policy to understand how your data is collected, used, and protected. You can access this from the footer of any page or in Settings > Privacy. ANVL doesn't sell or share your data with advertisers.
Security Best Practices
- Use a unique, strong password for ANVL (don't reuse passwords from other sites). Use a password manager if you have many accounts. Enable two-factor authentication. Log out from shared computers. Don't share your login with others. Be suspicious of phishing emails asking for login info. ANVL never asks for your password via email.
Reporting Security Issues
If you discover a security vulnerability or suspect your account is compromised, contact [email protected] immediately. Don't share the details publicly. ANVL takes security seriously and will investigate and fix issues promptly.
